1.Develop your professional network
UFI brings together the people who build, maintain, and support the world’s market places: trade show organisers, service providers, venue owners and operators, as well as national and international associations representing the exhibition industry. Winning the NGLGrant connects you with this global community. Grant winners have the opportunity to share and network with up to 600 exhibitions executives from more than 50 countries at the annual UFI Congress, which takes place this year in Shanghai, from 9 to 12 November 2016.
2. Prestige and global recognition
The UFI Congress is more than a gathering of industry experts; it really brings momentum to the global exhibition industry. This is your chance to be heard by the leaders of the exhibition industry. Your voice and your congress session matters, and I am saying this to encourage you: be ready for all eyes to be on you, and all ears to be listening! Not only the international group of participants at the event itself, but also specialised media and national associations around the world will be highly interested in what you have to say. Discussions and predications made at the UFI Congress go on to influence and shape the industry.
3.Career development
“Where do you see yourself in 10 years?” This question used to be commonly asked during job interviews or annual reviews; however the answer is not that simple, especially with today’s career landscape changing faster than ever before. Your professional development is your responsibility, including the decisions you make, the opportunities you seek and the challenges you take on. Talent management is a crucial success factor for many companies; however it is up to you to participate actively. By inviting you to share how you envisage the future of the exhibition industry, the NGL Grant is a great opportunity for you to think outside the box and help shape your own career .
This is an outstanding initiative to recognise and promote the young leaders of tomorrow within the exhibitions industry worldwide. I strongly encourage anyone who feels addressed by the above to apply before 30 April 2016. More information and application details are available here.
